I'd been playing in a few bands from 1986-1988. We would play small gatherings and parties, typical high school
stuff. Then In 1988 I bought my first 4-track
recorder and drum
machine. I used it like there was no tomorrow. I would write a
new song every week and record it on the weekend. Then invite friends over to listen to it over a few beers. This went
on for the better part of a year.
The trend at the time was to release cassette tapes of your tunes. CDs were
too expensive to replicate and recordable CD's hadn't even been thought of yet. So I had Brian Witter, a fellow musician and artist design a cover for my record. After that
it was all down hill. I made and sold probably 20 copies of the tape and then laid it to rest and moved on to the next
project.
I really enjoy going back and hearing some of these tunes. To hear my progress in
writing as well as recording. Moon Jamboree in D is there very first song I wrote and recorded, 1 year later, Funknee-E, the
40th song
I had written. Quite an improvement I would say.
This
record is now out of print.
