Steve
and Sue's Sinai Adventure (S.S.S.&A.)
February 2006

back
Jumping right in... Sue, from Winnipeg Canada, has
temporarily relocated to the Sinai, Egypt (the Sinai is actually in
Asia). Since her arrival in Cairo, we have been to the desert for a
wedding, slept in a horse stall, toured whale bones in the desert, pyramids, museums,
moved to Dahab (a hippie Bedouin community), diving, diving
certifications, and running in the morning - most mornings. During this time Steve launched an iPod accessory
playlist generator called
iCharts, complained about school (even though
while in class he is 10 meters from the sea), and walking in flip-flops
really slow.
Basically, we live in a small
clean room, $4 a night, no TV, two beds (one is now a couch), no stove,
and the BishBishi Bedouin camp is seconds from the beach. Without further adi-a-dooo -
pictures.
Peace

Backtrack, Sue in
front of some old rocks. Six marriage proposals on this day. Top bidder,
12,000 camels.
An added bonus on
this day (Sue's third day in town), a local stole something from a
tourist-trinket salesman, and in his escape, he ran into the tombs
underneath the Giza sight. Police gave chase on appropriated Camel's.
Much yelling. He may still be down there today? |

Wadi Rian (sp), on our way to Curt and Sandrine's wedding in the desert. |

Curt and
Sandrine's wedding reception in a Bedouin tent. |

Next, a wedding
dance in an open air horse stall, the sight also served our evening
accommodations. Sleeping on a pile of hay is rather warm and
comfortable. I don't think the dog liked us using his bed for the
evening. Friends who forked out $10 US for a room in town would have
rather stayed here. |

|
Post wedding...
our desert tour guide Jeremiah. Yes, he wore the suit all day - touring
multiple whale bone sites. |

Boys |

|
January 26th,
someone turned 30. |

|
Dahab hair - this
is not staged! This is what we look like in Dahab.

Steve and
Jeremiah's favorite post-dive spot for the last 3-4 years, now we're
joined by the ladies.
They fit right in. |

|
Nice mountains. |

Sue after her
introduction dive, she was in class and scuba certified days later (the
jury is still out on other potential certifications). |

Love that
t-shirt, actually purchased at the Vegoose Jam Band Music Festival in
Las Vegas last October. In Egypt, many tourists and locals smile and
high-five us upon reading this shirt. I also took the liberty of
altering the picture, all letters are included on the real t. |
